Carlos Pavan, an Argentine composer based in New York since 2000, combines folklore rhythms with jazz and classical concepts. Having studied with maestros Jorge Morel, Dave Smey at the Brooklyn Conservatory, and Pablo Ziegler (Astor Piazzolla's pianist), he has performed in France, Portugal, Ireland, Scandinavia, Japan, Greece, Belgium and recorded four albums featuring string quartet, chamber ensemble, and trio concertante compositions. His works are published in both the United States and Europe.
